Daedalean is building machine-learning-based avionics systems for civil aircraft today and advanced aerial mobility tomorrow. The company, with offices in Switzerland, the EU, and the US, has a team of 150+ people, including 19 Ph. D.s and 17 pilots, with expertise in machine learning, aviation-grade software engineering, flight testing, safety assessment, and certification. Daedalean is working to certify and bring to the market the first AI-based certified products for General Aviation: Pilot Eye™ and Ailumina Vista™, the two versions (for the cockpits of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter) of visual traffic detection source capable of detecting non-cooperative traffic. Daedalean's other visual applications include non-GNSS positioning and navigation, landing guidance for fixed-wing aircraft, vertical landing guidance for rotor aircraft, and power line detection. The company has established partnerships with aviation regulators and published joint reports with EASA and the FAA, paving the way for certifying machine-learning systems for safety-critical aviation applications.
